Academy Riding Stables is located at the Garden of the Gods, probably the most scenic place in Colorado Springs to go horseback riding. The minimum age for riders is 8 years; however, pony rides in a ring are available for younger children. Riders are asked to arrive 45 minutes before ride-time, to allow for paperwork, instruction, and matching horses to riders. Helmets are required and provided for riders under 18, and helmets are provided upon request for adults. If it's rainy, as it often is on a Colorado summer afternoon, the ride will likely continue, and rain coats are available--if it looks like rain, be sure to ask for one before mounting your horse.
